Legal Action identifies its priorities by working closely with community leaders and organizations, Legal Aid Chicago advocates, and the clients these advocates represent. This approach reflects our commitment to working on the issues that matter most to the people who need but cannot afford legal representation.
Through class action litigation, legislative advocacy and policy initiatives, Legal Action Chicago addresses problems that affect low-income communities and stem from or are exacerbated by racial inequities. Our services are free.
The issues we address correspond to the practice areas at Legal Aid Chicago: Children and Families, Consumer, Immigrants and Workers’ Rights, Housing, and Public Benefits.
